NARROWBOAT BLASTING & HULL BLACKING
Treating a narrowboat to this service is the best thing it could possibly receive to its painted surface. Both baseplate and hull sides can be shot-blasted using premium low dust iron silicate shot. The shot-blasting process removes all traces of paint, rust and mill scale leaving the surface ready for the blacking process. When considering options for hull blacking, we always recommend a 2K epoxy coating system. Two coats of black epoxy paint system are applied. This process is far more durable than traditional coatings offering superior protection and a life expectancy of 8-10 years but only when applied to a freshly shot-blasted surface. This is our preferred choice for preserving the condition of the hull.
